Welcome to the US-SOMO installation page

The latest version of US-SOMO has been integrated into UltraScan III versions 4.0.
You can obtain these new versions here.
Make sure you get the latest 64 bit 4.0 version of UltraScan.
Please follow the detailed installation instructions for UltraScan III

After installation, locate the US-SOMO program which can generally be found in:

Note: If you manually changed the installation path during installation, then the paths below will be incorrect, find the program in your specified installation path:
Windows: on a desktop icon labeled US-SOMO or in: C:\Program Files\UltraScan\bin\us3_somo.exe
MacOSX: Under /Applications/ultrascan3/bin/us3_somo
Linux: /usr/lib/ultrascan3/bin/us3_somo

After you have located the US-SOMO executable:

Run the US-SOMO executable once to backup old versions and install new versions of changed definition files. The program will automatically exit after this is complete.
Run US-SOMO once again and navigate to the top menu "Configuration->Reset to default configuration", and click "Yes" on the window that appears. This will ensure that any settings from a previous installation are reset to the newest version. Then exit the program.
You are now ready to use US-SOMO
If you wish to use CRYSOL or CRYSON under US-SOMO, they should be downloaded directly from EMBL and copied to same directory as us3_somo is located (see above).
